Our Organization

Our organization is small and pay no salaries or remunerations of any kind.

Of course, a remote project like this calls for local presence now and then, and the transportation cost for our project leaders with in Ethiopia must be covered. However, we never use Your money to travel to Ethiopia.

Senait Seyoum Society refers to two legally distinct entities: a Foundation (currently inactive [1]) and a Lund-based non-profit association. Together, they share two purposes to honor the memory of the person whose name they bear, and to improve the situation for children in Ethiopia.

This website, published in October 2026, provides information about the school project in Debre Sina, whether you live in Sweden or elsewhere in the world.

In Sweden, this website also serves as our administrative tool for handling contributions from residents here, whether as annual membership fees or additional donations. For reasons beyond our control, the Society in Sweden was inactive during 2025, although the project in Ethiopia continued through other parts of the network — as far as the security situation allowed.

[1] The main reason for not using the Foundation at present is the substantial administrative cost — for example, around SEK 20,000 (US $2,000) just to open a bank account in its name.
